1 Corinthians 15:32  What do I gain if, humanly speaking, I fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” 33  Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” 34  Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.

Dear Friends,

Practice What We Preach

The above verses were the subject of our gathering last Sunday morning.  Marian shared about the importance of right friendships.  And we talked about how we should interact with the lost purposefully sharing the gospel, rather than just hanging out.  God promptly gave me opportunity to put in to practice what we preach.  I called and old friend whom I hadn’t talked to in years.  Certainly there was a lot to catch up on.  He related how bad people are doing and horrible thing that have taken place.  I heard how people who used to be my friends have continued on the path of destruction.  It was encouraging to see how great has been God’s salvation in my life and sad to see how people are being so ruined.  God has so changed me, I now no longer am on that road to destruction, but by His grace he placed me on the straight and narrow that leads to life.  I don’t even have the same accent anymore.  Either way, I didn’t want to be guilty of just hanging out and being drug down.  But I wanted to change the subject to the things of God.  I tried thinking of some eloquent way to switch to the things of God, but nothing would come.  I simply said, next time I talk to you can we talk about God.  Pretty simple.  He said he would like to, and the next day God blessed with a very profound 2 hour conversation about God, His Word, the law and the gospel.  We need to remember that it is not our eloquence or being cool that is the power of God unto salvation, but rather the gospel.

Romans 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

As the weather has started to warm up, please pray with us for God to embolden us to go out and be unashamed to share the gospel with people, and look to God to save them.

This last month God opened a door to preach the gospel in a women’s prison.  He has also been opening up doors for Marian (co-elder) to do the same.  Please pray for God to save these men and women and bring forth much fruit for the glory of His name.

Evangelism Training Report

Thank you for your prayers about the evangelism training that took place last month.  A Christian camp invited us out to teach their staff on Biblical evangelism.  It seemed to be a really blessed time in the word.  I had 6 sessions: 1. God and His character 2. Mans problem and need 3. The good news  4. Repentance 5. Faith 6.The Atheist Delusion (www.atheistdelusion.com)

I’ve been super busy with my job.  In addition the normal classes I teach, I’ve taken on a bunch of extra video projects for the school.  It’s just for this season, but it has been extremely exhausting, and uses up so much of my time.  Please pray with us for God to provide support to where I could spend less time at my job and more time with the work of the church and evangelism.

Off to England

Please pray for Andrea and Lidia.  Lord willing, they will be going to England this month for a week to visit her Mother and older sister and her children.  None of them are Christians. Please pray for God to save their souls and protect Andrea and Lidia while they are gone, and help the rest of us at home.

More Evangelism Training

Lord willing, next week we’ll be doing an evangelism training in Brasov.  Ninel Lazer and I have an opportunity to teach on evangelism to an Operation Mobilization group near to that city.  Please pray with us for God to give us grace to do the work of evangelists and that God would raise up laborers unto His harvest that would share the gospel Biblically.  Also we plan on going as a family, and the trip there is on some winding roads through the beautiful mountains.  While I enjoy their beauty, much of my family struggle with car sickness and we’ll be praying we make it there and back with out any vomiting and also that our car runs well.

Thank you for your love and care.

Jonathan, Andrea, Hannah, Demetrius, Ilinca and Lida DeSeno
1 John 3:1  See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
