THE SPIRIT OF FEAR

Taken from our annual magazine – The Refreshing issue #14 – 2020

Let God choose the Battle Ground, not the enemy!

Why is it that Christ-followers live in so much turmoil when crises come.

We face the Coronavirus and we teeter on global financial depression. Politics is failing us and social unrest is common-place. The eco-system seems to be reeling on the brink of collapse.

This is nothing new. At one time God’s people have faced these kinds of troubles before. The size of the problems may have grown but our God has always been bigger than them all!

Unfortunately,  by allowing the enemy to use these circumstances to confuse us – we actually give him the choice of where to fight – in the valley of the shadow of death.

We hear and read so many people talk about “taking a stand against” this issue and “praying against” this problem. Without considering their words. It sounds like God who we serve is this weak God who needs us to stand against something.

The Battle is the Lord’s is it not? (See Proverbs 21:31 & 2 Chronicles 20:15)

We need to be making a stand with the Lord, not against the enemy. We must let God choose the battleground and we must let God fight the fight for us.

The real conflict is letting go and allowing God to work… because many have allowed the Spirit of Fear to determine how we respond to the Lord and how we engage the enemy at the point of crises.

The Captain of our salvation through the Holy Spirit leads us to the Holy throne room of God to find help in time of need. This is where the war room of God help’s us to be most effective…

Hebrews 4:16 NLT “So let us come boldly(freely, confidently) to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most”.

If ever we need God’s help it is now. If ever we needed an effective battle strategy it is now!
